Rosa chinensis ‘Mutabilis’

Rosa chinensis ‘Mutabilis’

( a.k.a. “Tipo Ideale”)
An old Chinese rose, it has been known in Europe since 1894 when the Swiss gardener Henri Correvon   received it as a gift from the Prince Gilberto Borromeo  who had taken it from the roses growing in his garden on Isola Madre, Lake Maggiore, Italy. It probably arrived in Europe through the island of the Réunion.
